Back To School Dental Basics | Gwinnett Dentist

There is so much for parents to do when it’s time to head back to school… buying school supplies, pediatric checkups, attending orientations and more. With all of that on your plate it can be easy to forget about taking the kids to the dentist for a cleaning and exam, but you should. You want to start the year of healthy and positive, so here are a few back to school dental basics to help promote great oral health.
  • Buy your child dental floss to take to school with them. Try a flavored or colorful brand that may encourage them to floss each day after lunch.
  • Schedule a complete dental cleaning and exam. Toothaches, cavities or other dental health issues can be a distraction at school so be sure to address them early.
  • Have a one-on-one health discuss with your child covering all the basics including hand washing, healthy eating and dental hygiene.
  • Set a nightly schedule with your kids for brushing and flossing before bed.

Keeping your child safe and healthy will set the stage for a prosperous and productive school year.  At Kurz Family Dentistry, we have a very kid friendly office and would love to be your child’s dentist.  If you have more questions on ensuring your child’s dental health, feel free to give us a call.  We want to be your family dentist in Gwinnett!
