I have never been kept waiting for an appointment, but the lobby has seating for all ages and they offer coffee, juices, toys, TV, magazines, etc. while waiting. Before starting any teeth cleaning or treatment, they always explain what the cost of today's visit (with/without insurance) will be. There are never unexpected charges to pay upon your exit.
I especially like Dr. Kurz's honest style. She doesn't try to push unneeded filing replacements or other non-critical treatments. She has an educated "let's wait and see" approach.
