Preventing Plaque Build Up | The Dacula Dentist

Most of us have been warned since we were kids about the dangers of plaque.  Plaque can lead to dental problems, including decay and disease.  Reducing and preventing plaque buildup on your teeth is important to your overall oral health. Here are 3 things you can do to help prevent plaque buildup:

1. FLOSS DAILY: Flossing is an important part of preventing plaque buildup. Brushing is important too, but does not get between your teeth.  Flossing 1 – 2 times daily will greatly improve your dental health and reduce plaque.

2. USE A MOUTH RINSE: Using an antimicrobial or fluoride rinse can help reduce plaque. It will also help with fresher breath and general teeth protection.

3. EATING THE RIGHT FOODS: Introducing crunchy fruits and veggies into your diet daily can help remove some of the plaque from your teeth naturally.  Avoiding sugary foods and drinks can actually feed harmful bacteria, so stay away from them as much as possible.
